ISMS Hotel Options

We have blocks of rooms on hold at four local hotels for the week of the conference (6/15-6/20). Additionally a small block of rooms is being held at the Chicago O'Hare Holiday Inn/Rosemont for the Saturday night (6/14) prior to the meeting and the Friday night (6/20) after the meeting. Please reference ISMS when making your booking. Some hotels have specific reservation guidelines so please check the listing below for further information. The room holds will drop off on 5/15, so please book prior to that date to guarantee availability.

Illini Union Hotel

The Illini Union Hotel is by far the most convenient location for attendees. It is a 2 minute walk to Noyes Laboratory. The room rate includes free parking, free internet, and free continental breakfast. The hotel was completely renovated in 2009 with new beds and furnishings. There is no pool or spa (there is a workout room); however, you may ask for free passes to the campus recreation facilities (the nearest is about 1/2 mile away). This is a nice facility, but does not have quite the finish of the Blackwell. We were only able to block a relatively small number of rooms, so book early for best availability.

To Book via Website: On the main page on the left side, click the red Book Your Room Now button, on the next page, click the red Group Reservations button in the center. On the next page, enter ISMS in the top Group Code box and enter your dates/number of people. If the website shows old out, please call to confirm.

Hampton Inn

The Hampton Inn is located 1/2 mile North, or about a 12 minute walk, from Noyes Laboratory. The room rate includes free parking, free internet, and free hot breakfast. There is a fitness room and pool. This is a nice facility, but does not have quite the finish of the Blackwell. This hotel has the most availability.

To Book via Website: On the main page on the left side, enter your arrival and departure dates and room type and then click on the Add special rate codes link under the two checkboxes. Enter ISM in the Group Code box and click Check Availability. You may also call the toll free Hilton Hotels numbers (1-800-HILTONS or International (+800 4445 8667)) and reference group code ISM.

This is a very nice new property located on the South edge of campus. It is 1.6 miles from Noyes Laboratory (or about a 30 minute walk). There is complimentary shuttle service to and from campus; however, an appointment is necessary and shuttle space is limited, so availability is not guaranteed. The hotel has a workout room, and a spa where you can book a massage. You may also ask for free passes to the campus recreation facilities (the nearest is about 1/2 mile away). The room rate includes free parking, free internet and a free beverage and breakfast item each morning. There is also a restaurant on-site. This is the most similar to the Blackwell in terms of finish. We were only able to block a relatively small number of rooms, so book early for best availability.

King or Two Queens: $129/night plus tax

Comfort Suites Urbana

This is a slightly less expensive option located off campus. The rate includes a free full breakfast, free internet, free parking, and a complimentary shuttle to and from campus. There is also a fitness center and a 24-hour pool/hot-tub. There is a manager's reception from 5-7 PM Monday through Thursday.

Chicago O'Hare Holiday Inn Rosemont

Should you decide to fly into Chicago on Saturday in advance of the symposium (or stay overnight on Friday to catch a Saturday flight), the O'Hare Holiday Inn Rosemont is conveniently located (only 1 mile from the airport). There is a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle, a place to print boarding passes, and a departures board. The rate includes free internet. There is a full restaurant on-site. Each room has a microwave and mini-fridge.

The charter buses to Champaign will leave from this location. More details will be provided on the Flying to ISMS page.
